The Company
The company of the Terme San Pellegrino was founded in 1899 by the will of the Milanese lawyer Cesare Mazzoni in the homonymous city in the province of Bergamo, where the production plants are located. In 1908 the San Pellegrino mineral water distribution network extends well beyond the main European cities, reaching Cairo, Calcutta, Shanghai and even Sydney. In 1968 the company became, with an average of 150 million bottles sold, one of the giants of the restaurant industry, and this growth continued in the following years with the construction of the new plant and the introduction of new products. In 1999 the company was taken over by the Nestlé group. Currently about 90% of the company’s production, which is present in about 153 countries around the world, is absorbed by exports; United States, France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, China, Japan, Korea, Brazil and Russia.
The Water
San Pellegrino water is clear, transparent with very fine and rather numerous bubbles. The nose does not show abnormal odors. In the mouth it is fresh, with a pleasantly bitter and savory aftertaste. It is a balanced body water with a medium-long taste-olfactory persistence.
